Celebrate Halloween in Paris!

All Saints’ Day is a Catholic celebration, honoring the saints of the Catholic Pantheon, and celebrated on November 1st. Halloween, celebrated the day before, however, has no connection with the Catholic religion. It is the celtic New Year’s Eve, and this last night of the year was the death God « Samhain » night. According to the myth, during the night of Samhain, spirits and other ghosts would come back and haunt the houses of the living! The Celts had then the custom of dressing with terrifying costumes to scare them! This tradition was brought back to the United States by Scottish and Irish immigrants. Today, it is the children who dress up to claim treats by proclaiming “trick ot treat”!

And if you like to disguise, come to the Comic Con! It will take place from 26 to 28 October, during the holidays of All Saints in Paris. Fan of cosplay and disguise contest, this event is for you!

For those who are more interested in the treat than in the trick, the Chocolate Fair will be held from October 31th to November 4th … Yum!

Moreover, Paris is so romantic when it rains …
