This year, the holiday season in Paris will be illuminated in the Jardin des Plantes!

For the first time, the Jardin des Plantes organizes a lights festival: Espèces en voie d’illumination (Enlightenment of endangered species). Enlightenment of endangered species

From the 16th of November to the 15th of January, and for the first time, the Jardin des plantes will be adorned with a thousand fires. The result is very unique and magical!

This journey is divided into four parts, four themes.

The walk begins at the Valhubert Square with lanterns depicting creatures that disappeared 65 million years ago. Then, it continues with creatures exterminated through men behavior, and then currently endangered species.

To finish, the zoo is transformed and dotted with gigantic and luminous animals, representative of the current biodiversity.

This enchanted walk is certainly not meaningless. Indeed, it is very pleasant to visit, but it also aims to raise awareness about the importance of the fauna and flora preservation.

Cross a 30 meters long white shark, admire a polar bear and its baby on an iceberg, cross the path of a gigantic mammoth or a feline that awaits you all fangs out!

In addition, the course is punctuated with live shows about nature and workshops for children, who will be able to build and decorate lanterns to bring home as a souvenir. The facades of buildings and trees are decorated and illuminated, adding more magic to the journey!
