Gustav Klimt is back at the Atelier des Lumières!

The inaugural exhibition of the Atelier des Lumières, which attracted more than 1 million visitors in 8 months, is back from October 29th to November 2nd! Come and enjoy this beautiful and immersive journey in the Viennese art scene, with its key figure Gustav Klimt, his golden period, famous portraits and landscapes.

The Raspail Montparnasse hotel tells you more about it…

Gustav Klimt at the Atelier des Lumières

With its incredible XXL projection area (more than 1500m²!), the Atelier des Lumières makes us feel Viennese Art in a completely different way.

In total, we go through more than a hundred years of Austrian painting in 6 sequences.

Discover first the neoclassical Vienna, through the architectural jewels of the city of Klimt, on the vibrant opening music of the opera Tannhäuser …

Then, live the Viennese secession with Klimt, who, then celebrated as much as disputed, opened the way to modern painting.

The third sequence, “Klimt and Gold” is our favorite! You can thus admire a multitude of images, swaying and dancing on the mythical Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Next, discover Klimt and Nature, his beech forests in Autumn and flowering and lush meadows in the Spring … On the moving Rückert-Lieder songs of Gustav Mahler

The colorful 5th sequence is honoring Egon Schiele, and features the catchy music of Sergei Rachmaninov and Alexander Warenberg.

To end this magnificent experience, the final bouquet offers us the most beautiful portraits by Klimt : young girls, pregnant women, mature ladies … All dedicated to the beauty of the body evolving with age!

Did we entice you to watch more than 3,000 moving images in 30 minutes, using 140 laser projectors, and an incredible soundtrack broadcast by 50 speakers? Yes ? Go to this 3300 sq meters former foundry in the 11th arrondissement, and enjoy this spectacular sound and light show…
