The exhibition begins with a reminder of the life of Christian Dior, his childhood, his discovery and his passion for art, his learning of fashion design and finally his entry in Haute Couture. He also headed a art gallery and and was a passionate collector of Art Nouveau. These passions  are evoked throughout this journey and put a light on these sources of inspiration, which clearly defined the Dior House uncomparable style.  Inspirations, emotions, creations are presented around 300 haute couture dresses, hundreds of sketches, illustrations, objects and fashion accessories from 1947 to the present day.  A reconstituted Atelier de couture, within the exhibition pays tribute to the know-how and techniques of the ladies workers, often called “petites mains” wiithout which haute couture could not exist. The exhibition ends in the nave of the museum, decorated as a ballroom for the presentation of sumptuous evening gowns, including the dress known as “Soirée Brillante”, which was presented in the same place in 1955, during the days of Christian DiorHotel for Paris Fashion week
